Pese a los cambios hechos para hacer más atractiva la carrera, Lando Norris (McLaren) cumplió con la lógica del Gran Premio de Mónaco y, luego de haber obtenido la pole, mantuvo su lugar y superó la bandera a cuadros superando a Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), que intentó pasarlo en la primera vuelta, pero no lo logró. Oscar Piastri, líder del Mundial de Fórmula 1, completó el podio en las calles de Montecarlo.
"¡Es increíble! Es una carrera larga, fue genial, pudimos presionar durante buena parte de la carrera. Estaba un poco nervioso por el final, con Max (Verstapppen) delante, pero gané en Mónaco, pasara lo que pasara. Hoy cumplí uno de mis sueños de infancia. Lo peor fue el final. Sentía que tenía el control, pero Max se resistía. Intenté dejarlo adelantarse un poco para que acelerara, pero tuve que controlarlo mucho. Estoy muy contento, vamos a tener una gran noche esta noche", dijo Norris, quien obtuvo su primera victoria en el Principado.
