A pesar de que solo fueron 18 vueltas, la carrera Sprint del Gran Premio de Miami fue un caos debido a la lluvia. El triunfo fue para Lando Norris (McLaren) que superó a su compañero de equipo Oscar Piastri en una polémica parada en boxes cuando dominaba la prueba. Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari), que realizó su parada en boxes en el momento justo, completó el top 3.
La corta carrera tuvo cuatro colisiones, una de ellas antes de la salida, pospuesta media hora debido a la lluvia que se hizo presente en el circuito y los organizadores tuvieron que trabajar a fondo para secar la pista.
La lluvia azotó con fuerza el circuito de Miami; Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) se cayó antes de la salida, justo en una vuelta de reconocimiento, por lo que el monegasco no participó en el primer intento de salida, que fue abortado debido a la nula visibilidad por el exceso de agua en pista.

Incluso, Max Verstappen (Red Bull), quien partía desde la cuarta posición en la parrilla de salida, tuvo un fuera de juego durante la vuelta de formación detrás del coche de seguridad. Debido a lo anterior, la dirección de carrera sacó la bandera roja. Después de 30 minutos de espera, hubo un par de vueltas bajo Safety Car y la prueba quedó en 18 giros.
Ya en la arrancada, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) tuvo una mala salida y fue superado en la primera curva por los dos McLaren y el Red Bull de Verstappen, donde Piastri tomó el liderato alejándose de Norris y del tetracampeón neerlandés.
La carrera tomó cierta emoción cuando la pista comenzó a secarse y los equipos decidieron arriesgar con un cambio de neumáticos: de lluvia a intermedios. Piastri fue el primero en parar y cedió su lugar a Norris.

Hamilton comenzó a ganar posiciones y Antonelli tuvo un contacto con Verstappen en boxes y un par de incidentes de Carlos Sainz (Williams) y Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) cambio el panorama de la carrera.
Justo cuando llegó la bandera amarilla, Norris ingresó a boxes para cambiar neumáticos, mantuvo su liderato con el Safety Car al frente y solo tuvo que acelerar en la última vuelta para ganar la prueba.
